Because road safety begins at an early age and because young people are the main group concerned by road accidents(25% of road deaths in Europe are 15-24 year olds), the Safety for all program is aimed at children, teenagers and young drivers.
Educating young drivers on road safety
Young drivers aged 15 to 24 are those who are most at risk on the road. Road accidents represent the first cause of mortality in this age group. Renault organizes educational or training initiatives in a number of countries, working alone or in partnership with associations set up to educate young drivers on road safety. These initiatives are based on three concepts: competitions, training through driving schools or driving programs, and "designated driver" operations. Almost 171,650 young drivers took part in the most recent edition of this program in Europe.
